To convert other file formats to the "Simulation Configuration File" file type, you need software like OMSI 2 or a similar tool.

About HOF files

A .HOF file primarily functions as a route configuration file for the OMSI Bus Simulator series developed by MR Software. It stores vital simulation parameters, including bus stop lists, terminus displays (rollbands), depot locations, and route paths. Alternatively, a .HOF file can function as a photo lab print order generated for services like CanvasPeople using HAL2001 software.

The main disadvantage of .HOF files is their highly specific, proprietary nature. OMSI files are technically text-based but use a strict, unforgiving syntax. If you make a syntax error or use the wrong text encoding in a standard editor, the simulator will crash or fail to load the route. The print order variants are entirely closed-ecosystem files meant only for specific commercial printing machines, making them impossible to open natively on a standard desktop.

To edit OMSI route data safely, convert the .HOF file to CSV or XML to manage data in a spreadsheet, then convert it back. To extract information from a print order, convert it to TXT or PDF to archive the text data. Drop your file here to view and convert it securely right in your browser.

Convert.Guru analyzes your HOF file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted TXT, RDT, PCG and NIP files.

The HOF Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our HOF converter.
