About HAXAGON files

A .haxagon file (typically named levels.haxagon) is a custom level data file used by Super Haxagon, an open-source arcade survival game created by RedTopper. These files define the rules for custom levels, including falling wall patterns, difficulty speeds, background colors, and music timing. These files are usually generated and edited using Haxa Editor, the official GUI-based level creation tool bundled with the game project. Players load these levels by dropping the file into specific game directories on platforms like the Nintendo 3DS, Switch, or PC. Because .haxagon is an isolated, proprietary format built exclusively for a homebrew game clone, it is extremely rigid and practically useless outside of the Super Haxagon ecosystem. It is not supported by standard text editors or generic 3D tools, meaning manual editing outside of the official editor often leads to file corruption or immediate game crashes. If you need to analyze the level logic outside the game environment, converting the data to standard formats like JSON, XML, or CSV is ideal. However, doing so will permanently sever the file's link to the game engine, meaning it can no longer be played. Due to its extreme obscurity and highly specialized engine logic, standard online converters completely fail to process .haxagon files. Often, only the original game software can properly read or export this data.

Convert.Guru analyzes your HAXAGON file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
