About GXC files

The .GXC file primarily functions as a Gas analyzer calibration file used by Gasmet Calcmet software. Alternatively, it serves as an XML-based DLMS/COSEM device profile created by Gurux, or rarely as a General CADD Pro Component. These files store critical calibration coefficients or device communication protocols. Opening these files usually requires expensive, specialized software like Gasmet Calcmet or the Gurux Director. The disadvantage of the .GXC format is its proprietary nature. For Gasmet files, the data is often locked away from standard spreadsheet tools, making it impossible to audit calibration data without a software license. Users frequently need to extract this data into standard formats to perform statistical analysis or share records with auditors. The best conversion targets for .GXC files are CSV, TXT, or XML. Converting to these formats makes the data universally readable, though you will lose the ability to import the calibration back into the proprietary analyzer software. This file format is difficult to open or convert because the Gasmet variant is a closed, proprietary binary format. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. Standard online converters fail to process it. Just drag and drop your file to convert.guru to identify the format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like the XML structure of Gurux files, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your GXC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted MCCS, GPX and FMF files.

The GXC Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GXC converter.
