About GUL files
The .GUL file is primarily a proprietary word processor document created by JungUm Global, a legacy office suite historically developed by Samsung for use in South Korea. A secondary use for the .GUL extension is a NASCA DRM protected file managed by Fasoo enterprise security software.
Users frequently need to convert these files because JungUm Global is largely obsolete, highly proprietary, and completely unsupported by modern tools like Microsoft Word or Google Docs. The files rely on an aging Microsoft Compound internal structure. This locks your text, formatting, and images inside a container that standard online converters cannot process. Furthermore, if the file is a NASCA DRM wrapper, it is literally encrypted to prevent unauthorized access, making it impossible to open without the original enterprise credentials.
The most practical conversion targets are PDF for preserving any remaining layout, or DOCX and TXT for salvaging raw text, though original formatting is almost always lost during extraction.
This is a closed, proprietary format. Standard online converters fail to process it.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GUL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert GUL file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use JungUm Global or similar software from the "Legacy Word Processor Document" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to GUL, try JungUm Global or another comparable tool in the "Legacy Word Processor Document" category.
The GUL Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GUL converter.
