To convert other file formats to the "Color Gradient Library" file type, you need software like Corel Painter or a similar tool.
About GRADIENTLIBRARY files
The .gradientlibrary file format stores custom color gradients used exclusively by Corel Painter. Digital artists rely on these files to save, manage, and share specific multi-color blend settings for their digital canvases and brush strokes.
The primary disadvantage of this format is extreme vendor lock-in. It is a strictly proprietary file type. You cannot natively import .gradientlibrary files into competing software like Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo, or view them in web browsers. If your Corel Painter license expires or you switch to different software, your accumulated gradient assets become completely inaccessible.
Because the internal data structure is closed and undocumented, standard online converters fail to process .gradientlibrary files. Often, only the original Corel Painter software can properly read, apply, or export this data. The most practical workaround for transferring gradients is to manually apply them to a blank canvas within Painter and export the visual result as a standard PNG or JPG file, which can then be color-picked in other apps. If our analysis detects an embedded recognizable format, partial viewing or extraction may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GRADIENTLIBRARY file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The GRADIENTLIBRARY Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GRADIENTLIBRARY converter.
