About GLH files
A .GLH file is a hidden media file created by mobile privacy applications to conceal personal photos and videos from public galleries. Typically, these files are just standard MP4 video containers or JPG images that have been obfuscated.
The main disadvantage of the .GLH format is its reliance on security by obscurity. By changing the file extension, it tricks the operating system into ignoring the file. This traps your media inside a proprietary app ecosystem. If you lose your vault PIN, switch phones, or the app stops receiving updates, your media becomes completely inaccessible to standard media players and web browsers.
The most logical conversion targets are MP4 for video files and JPG for image files. Converting to these targets strips away the artificial obfuscation and restores universal playback without losing original quality.
Because vault applications intentionally alter file extensions and sometimes headers, this file format is difficult to open or convert blindly. Often, users believe only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like a standard MP4 container or JFIF signature - viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your GLH file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The GLH Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our GLH converter.
