A .GFP file is a GreenForce-Player Protected Media file. It acts as an encrypted container that wraps standard video and audio formats into a secured file, often requiring a password, a specific expiration date, or machine-specific hardware ID for playback. Content creators use this format to distribute videos securely while preventing unauthorized sharing and copying.
The primary disadvantage of the .GFP format is its aggressive Digital Rights Management (DRM). Because it is a proprietary, closed format, standard web browsers and popular open-source media players like VLC cannot open it. The files are strictly bound to the GreenForce-Player ecosystem. This severely restricts portability, frustrates end users, and makes long-term archiving nearly impossible without the original decryption keys.
