Extract text from Freeway template bundles (FWTB)

A .FWTB file is a Freeway Template Bundle created by Softpress Freeway, a Mac-based visual web design application. These files store pre-designed website layouts, including structural code, image assets, and formatting instructions. They allow users to generate entire websites without manually writing HTML or CSS.
This format has major disadvantages. It is completely proprietary and locked to the macOS ecosystem. If you do not have a paid, working installation of Softpress Freeway, you cannot open this file natively. Users experience immense frustration when trying to collaborate with Windows users, or when migrating an old website to modern CMS platforms like WordPress. Web browsers cannot render .FWTB files directly.
The best workaround is to extract the contents. Because macOS treats bundles as folders, you can often convert or compress the file to ZIP to access the underlying assets. From there, you can extract the raw HTML, CSS, JPG, and PNG files. Be aware that the proprietary drag-and-drop layout logic will be lost, leaving you with only the static assets.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert because it is a closed package. Standard online converters fail because they do not possess the proprietary rendering engine required to compile the template.
