About FRDOC files

A .FRDOC file is a proprietary Optical Character Recognition (OCR) project file created by ABBYY FineReader. It stores scanned document images, recognized text, layout analysis data, and user corrections. This format is highly proprietary and closed. It requires an expensive, paid license for ABBYY FineReader to open properly. Files are often very large because they contain high-resolution TIFF or JPG images alongside the recognized text. You cannot view them in web browsers, standard text editors, or free PDF readers. Users usually need to convert .FRDOC files to PDF, DOCX, or TXT to share the extracted text or archive the document. However, because this is a closed format, standard online converters fail to process it. Only the original software can properly render the complex internal file structure and layout mappings. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your FRDOC file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
