The .FNX file format is primarily used as an XML-based hierarchical note data file for the Linux application FeatherNotes. Additionally, it serves as a cached game texture in EVE Online and as a legacy CAD font index for SDRC I-DEAS.
To natively open a .FNX note, users typically need to run FeatherNotes. For textures, the files are handled silently by the EVE Online client, and for CAD fonts, the obsolete SDRC I-DEAS platform is required.
