About FFM files

The .FFM file extension is most commonly a proprietary 3D game asset used in mobile games developed by Supercell, such as Clash of Clans or Brawl Stars. These files store optimized 3D models, animations, and textures designed specifically for mobile hardware rendering. A secondary use is the FFmpeg Stream File format, which was historically used by the FFserver daemon in FFmpeg to buffer live media streams. The primary disadvantage of the .FFM format is its highly closed, proprietary nature. Supercell game assets are compiled specifically for their proprietary engine. Standard 3D modeling tools like Blender or Autodesk Maya cannot open these files natively. Modders and data miners often have to rely on community-built, unofficial Python scripts to extract the geometry. If you have an FFmpeg stream file, the original FFserver software was removed from FFmpeg in 2018, making playback extremely difficult without legacy tools. Users typically want to convert Supercell .FFM files to standard 3D formats like OBJ or FBX to view, edit, or 3D print the character models.
