They store the visual settings, colors, and graphics that define the user interface of the application. The only software natively designed to read these files is the Encrypt4all suite itself. The main disadvantage of the .ETFF format is its highly proprietary nature. It is heavily locked into a specific, niche software ecosystem. Users often struggle to view or modify these files without installing the exact version of the original software. Standard online converters fail to process it because it is not a standard document or image format. Converting an .ETFF file is usually done to extract the underlying images like PNG or text-based configuration data like XML. This file format is difficult to open or convert.
