About EOX files
The .EOX file extension is most commonly an EPLAN Object Exchange file used by EPLAN Electric P8 to store electrical engineering and CAE project data. Alternatively, it serves as a 3D room planner project file for pCon.planner (structured internally as a ZIP archive) or a proprietary embroidery design file for BERNINA and Embird Studio (using a Microsoft Compound file structure).
The main disadvantage of an .EOX file is that it is a strictly proprietary container. If you receive an EPLAN .EOX file but do not have an active, expensive EPLAN subscription, you cannot open or view the schematics. Similarly, embroidery variants require specialized, high-cost software. Standard online converters fail to process .EOX because the data is highly complex, closed-source, and lacks public documentation.
Users typically need to convert these files to standard CAD or 3D formats like DXF, DWG, PDF, or OBJ to share blueprints with external contractors. Because this file format is difficult to open or convert, often only the original software can properly export the data intact. We can analyze the file signature to determine if it is an engineering project, a 3D layout, or an embroidery pattern. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format - like extracting 3D meshes from the ZIP-based pCon files - viewing or partial conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your EOX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The EOX Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our EOX converter.
