About ENR files

The .enr extension is a notoriously ambiguous file type used by several disconnected industries, creating significant confusion for users trying to open one. Most commonly, it represents a Reinforcement Schedule created by Allplan, a BIM/CAD solution by Nemetschek, containing tabular data about steel reinforcements for construction. However, it is also frequently encountered as an Audio Log Note file generated by For The Record (FTR) courtroom recording systems (often linked to legacy WordPerfect workflows), or as an Event Enrollment file within Johnson Controls Metasys building automation systems.

The primary difficulty with .enr files is their proprietary nature; an Allplan schedule is useless without the expensive CAD software, and an FTR log cannot be read without the specific player or archaic word processors. Users typically possess these files not to edit them, but to extract the data contained within - whether that is a list of construction materials, a transcript of court notes, or a system event log.

For Allplan and Metasys users, the best conversion workflow is targeting XLSX or CSV to manipulate the tabular data in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel. For FTR and legal professionals, converting to DOCX or PDF is essential for accessibility and archiving.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ENR file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted GR, FMA and TTP files.
