The .ENH file format is a proprietary Nuance Enhanced File used to store speech recognition data for Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Developed by Nuance Communications, these files hold acoustic models, dictation history, and personalized user voice profiles that allow the software to improve transcription accuracy. The main disadvantage of the .ENH format is its strictly locked, proprietary nature. It requires a paid software license to utilize and cannot be opened by standard text editors or audio players. Users often try to convert these files to extract audio recordings as WAV or text transcripts as TXT, but standard converters fail because the file contains mathematical acoustic data rather than standard media. Because .ENH is a closed format, only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, convert.guru provides a pragmatic workaround.
