About EAL files

The .EAL file extension primarily represents an Enfocus Action List, a proprietary automation file used by Enfocus PitStop Pro and PitStop Server. These files store lists of macro commands - such as changing colors, adjusting page boxes, or adding watermarks - used to preflight and edit PDF documents automatically. Secondarily, .EAL files function as audio scripting files or level data for classic video games like Unreal Tournament 2004 (often built on the RIFF format), as alarm text lists in EPLAN software, or as End Action files on Amazon Kindle devices.

Users often seek to convert .EAL files because they are highly proprietary. An Enfocus Action List is completely useless without an expensive, specialized software subscription. It cannot be natively read by web browsers or standard text editors. Similarly, game-based .EAL files lock audio assets inside an aging, closed game engine format.

For Enfocus files, the most practical conversion targets are standard text or XML to document the automation logic for sharing, though the active macro execution capability will be lost. For game audio files, extracting the underlying RIFF data to standard WAV or MP3 is the primary goal.

These files are difficult to convert because they are closed system files. Often, only the original software can properly read or execute the data. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. convert.guru can inspect the internal structure of your .EAL file to determine if it is an Enfocus script, an EPLAN database, or a RIFF-based game asset. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extracting the content may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your EAL file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted ZS, AEF and HSP files.
