Extract text from Profile and thermal data files (DSU)

The .DSU file extension is shared by several completely different data formats. The most common use is a distributed Social Profile file created for the ICS 32 Decentralized Social Utility project. These files store user profile data in standard JSON formatting. Other uses include proprietary thermal analysis data files generated by Netzsch Proteus Thermal Analysis Software, sensor data logs from Aanderaa Data Instruments, and uninstaller packages for DAZ Studio.
Opening or converting a .DSU file depends entirely on its source. The ICS 32 social profile is merely disguised text and can be easily parsed. However, the Netzsch and Aanderaa files are proprietary, closed binary formats. This is a massive disadvantage. They lock your scientific data behind expensive enterprise software. If you do not have a license for the exact software that created them, the files are virtually useless blobs of data. Standard online converters fail to process them because the encoding schemas are kept secret by the manufacturers.
If you need to move this data, your best target formats are JSON or TXT for profiles, and CSV for scientific sensor data. Unfortunately, direct conversion of the binary variants usually requires the original software to properly export the data.
This file format is difficult to open or convert due to these proprietary barriers. However, you do not need to guess which type of .DSU file you have.
