Less commonly, the extension is used for legacy Draz Paint Images or PyDrizzle Data Files in astronomy.
The main disadvantage of the .DRZ format is this internal ambiguity. Because the extension is shared by compressed archives and executable binaries, standard operating systems do not know which application to launch.
