Convert DOE to another file type
To convert DOE models to another format, you need Arena or other Data software.
Convert a file to DOE
To convert other file formats to the "Simulation Model File" file type, you need software like Arena or a similar tool.
About DOE files
A .DOE file typically stores a Discrete Event Simulation Model built using Arena Simulation Software by Rockwell Automation. These models map, test, and optimize complex business processes, supply chains, and manufacturing systems. A secondary use is a Dynamic Object Exchange package for SDL Tridion Docs, storing DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture) content. To open simulation models, you need the original Arena software. Documentation packages are managed via SDL Tridion Docs. The Arena .DOE file relies on a proprietary Microsoft Compound binary architecture. It is a completely closed ecosystem. Files are unreadable without an active, expensive Arena license. Standard text editors or web browsers cannot open them, making collaboration difficult. The Tridion .DOE is easier to handle since it is structurally a ZIP archive containing XML data, but it still requires dedicated CCMS (Component Content Management System) software to render properly. Converting Arena .DOE models directly to other simulation software like AnyLogic often requires specialized migration tools or manual rebuilding, as cross-compatibility is notoriously poor. For Tridion packages, you can rename the extension to ZIP to extract the internal XML text files. Because simulation .DOE files are highly specialized, proprietary binaries, standard online converters fail to process them. Often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your DOE file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert DOE file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use Arena or similar software from the "Discrete Event Simulation Model" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to DOE, try Arena or another comparable tool in the "Discrete Event Simulation Model" category.
The DOE Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our DOE converter.
