The .DMM file extension is a proprietary data format used by iMindQ, a mind mapping and brainstorming application developed by Seavus. These files store hierarchical data, including nodes, relationships, text, embedded images, hyperlinks, and project management metadata like tasks and milestones.
Because .DMM is a closed, proprietary format, it is extremely difficult to open or edit unless you have an active license or trial of iMindQ installed. This creates severe friction when sharing mind maps with clients or team members who do not use the software. Web browsers and standard document viewers cannot natively read or display these files.
To share the content universally, users must convert .DMM files. The best target formats are PDF or PNG for visual representation, or OPML, DOCX, and MMAP if you need to retain structural data and text hierarchies.
