To convert other file formats to the "Automation Script & CNC Data" file type, you need software like DataLoad or a similar tool.
The .DLD file extension primarily acts as a DataLoad Automation Script utilized by XTS DataLoad to automate data entry into major ERP systems like Oracle and SAP. A large percentage of .DLD files are also CNC Press Brake Data files generated by Delem CNC Controls, storing machine bending programs in an XML format. Other niche, proprietary uses include avionics data load files for Honeywell Aerospace and compiled logger programs for Campbell Scientific data loggers.
Because the .DLD extension is shared among radically different industrial and enterprise applications, it is a highly fragmented format. Most .DLD files are just specialized text or XML containers under the hood, but they lack native support in standard operating systems or web browsers. If you do not have a license for the original niche software - which often requires expensive enterprise contracts - the files appear useless and will not open.
We recommend converting text-based or XML-based .DLD files to universal formats like TXT, XML, or CSV to read the data without the proprietary software. Converting binary .DLD variants (like the Honeywell avionics or Campbell data logger files) is extremely difficult because only the original hardware or software can properly parse the structured data.
