About DLD files

The .dld extension primarily serves two very different industries: enterprise data automation and industrial manufacturing.

1. DataLoad Script (Primary Format)

Most frequently, a .dld file is a proprietary automation script used by DataLoad (originally by XTS). These files contain data grids, macro commands, and keystroke sequences designed to automate data entry into Oracle E-Business Suite or SAP.
The Problem: While they look like spreadsheets, .dld files are encoded to specific column widths and macro syntaxes. You cannot simply double-click them to open in Microsoft Excel without losing column mapping or command logic. Users often need to edit the data in Excel before reloading it, but direct conversion is tricky without the original software.

For Editing: Convert to XLSX or CSV. This allows you to sanitize large datasets in Excel before re-importing them into DataLoad.

2. Delem CNC Data

In metal fabrication, .dld files store product specifications and bending programs for Delem press brake controllers (such as the DA-60 series). These are often XML-based structure files containing machine parameters.
The Problem: These files are designed for the machine's internal OS or offline software like Profile-T. They are unreadable to standard PDF viewers or CAD tools.
