Extract text from Document packages or downloads (DAP)

To convert other file formats to the "Proprietary Data Archive" file type, you need software like Documill Dynamo or a similar tool.
The .DAP file extension is highly fragmented and used by several completely different software systems. Most commonly, it is a Document Assembly Package used by document automation platforms like Documill Dynamo and DocuSign. In this context, it acts as a ZIP-compressed archive containing document templates and automation data. Other prevalent uses include Dahao Embroidery Systems machine patterns, partial download files created by Download Accelerator Plus (which are incomplete RAR archives), and employer contribution payment files for the Mexican IMSS SUA system.
Because these formats are heavily proprietary and system-specific, they present severe disadvantages for everyday users. Document templates require a paid enterprise subscription to open. Dahao embroidery files cannot be previewed in standard image viewers. Partial download files are completely useless until the download finishes. You cannot natively share these files with clients or view them in web browsers.
For document automation .DAP files, the best workaround is extracting the internal ZIP structure to retrieve the raw XML or DOCX templates. For partial downloads, you can sometimes rename the file to RAR and extract the completed portions. However, standard online converters usually fail because they do not recognize the specific software signature for each distinct variation of the file.
