About CPDX files

A .CPDX file is an Adobe Captivate Storyboard Project typically created using the Adobe Captivate Draft application. It acts as a blueprint for eLearning courses, storing slides, media placeholders, and basic interaction logic. You can open and edit these files natively using Adobe Captivate. However, relying on this format comes with severe disadvantages. It is a closed, proprietary format, meaning you are locked into an expensive Adobe subscription just to view the content. The files can easily exceed 100MB and are completely unsupported by standard web browsers, document readers, or media players. Because of these limits, users frequently need to convert .CPDX files into accessible formats like CPTX for desktop editing, PDF for client reviews, or MP4 for standard video playback. Unfortunately, this file format is notoriously difficult to convert because standard online tools lack Adobe's proprietary rendering engine required to process the interactive branching logic. Standard online converters fail to process it. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format like PNG or JPG assets, viewing or extraction may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CPDX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
