The .CKT file is primarily an electronic circuit schematic or simulation file. This extension is heavily fragmented across the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry. It is used natively by CircuitMaker (now owned by Altium), Crocodile Clips, Beige Bag B2 Spice, and Cirkit. Additionally, RF engineers frequently encounter .CKT files as VNA Calibration Kit Definition files for Keysight Vector Network Analyzers.
Because the .CKT extension is shared across multiple incompatible, proprietary platforms, users frequently face format confusion.
