About CK files

A .CK file typically serves one of three completely different functions. Most commonly, it is a Certification practice exam file used by Avanset Visual CertExam Suite to simulate IT certification tests. Alternatively, it functions as an encrypted Navigation map data file used in Clarion car navigation systems, or as a test script written in Perl for the Pintos instructional operating system.

The primary issue with .CK files is their highly specialized and proprietary nature. Avanset exam files require expensive commercial software to open, creating a major barrier for students who simply want to study the material on their phone or tablet. Clarion map files are actively encrypted to prevent tampering, copying, or unauthorized updates, making them completely unreadable outside of the original GPS hardware. Pintos test scripts are simple plain text, but the obscure .CK extension confuses standard operating systems and web browsers, requiring manual intervention to view the code.

Because of these limitations, users frequently look to convert .CK files. For Pintos scripts, converting them to TXT or PL makes them instantly readable in code editors like Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code. For Avanset exams, users typically want to convert the questions to PDF to study offline without paying a recurring subscription. Clarion map files, however, cannot be converted to standard image or GIS formats due to their deep encryption.

This file format is difficult to open or convert because of strict DRM and proprietary structures. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. However, convert.guru can still identify the file format, inspect the file, and show text or internal content. Just drag and drop your file to see what it is and convert it if supported. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your CK file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted VCE, TQB and VPLUS files.
