The most common variant (approx. 25%) is a Ship Berth Layout file generated by Trelleborg OPTIMOOR. These are specialized ASCII or binary data files used to simulate mooring arrangements, analyzing how ships interact with fenders and bollards under stress. They are strictly proprietary; you cannot open them in Microsoft Excel or AutoCAD directly.
However, users frequently encounter this extension in other contexts. In the ArtiCAD ecosystem, a .bth file represents a specific Bathroom Design layout, containing 3D coordinates and texture references for cabinetry and sanitary ware. In the digital fashion world, CLO 3D uses .bth to store Buttonhole presets (shape, size, and stitching logic). Finally, legacy mobile devices often generated .bth files as cached Bluetooth thumbnails. Because of this fragmentation, there is no single ".bth viewer." conversion depends entirely on the file's origin. For OPTIMOOR and ArtiCAD files, the only reliable workflow is opening the file in the original software and exporting to a universal format like PDF or DXF.
