About BSZ files

The .BSZ file extension primarily represents a BSPlayer Skin file. It is essentially a renamed ZIP archive containing graphical assets (like BMP, PNG, or JPG images) and configuration text files (like INI or XML) used to customize the user interface of the BSPlayer media player. A minority of these files are also associated with the BizniSoft BSZ Compressor. The main disadvantage of a .BSZ file is its extremely narrow use case; it only functions as intended within BSPlayer. If a user migrates to a modern alternative like VLC media player, these skins become completely incompatible. Because it is a proprietary archive structure tailored for a specific software's layout engine, direct conversion into skins for other media players is impossible due to differing UI frameworks.

However, because the underlying format of a BSPlayer skin is standard ZIP compression, users can simply rename the extension to ZIP to manually extract the graphical assets. Drag and drop your file to convert.guru to see what it is and convert it if supported. Our tool can identify the file format, inspect the archive structure, and extract or convert the embedded image and text files for use elsewhere.

Convert.Guru analyzes your BSZ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted SKN, KWC and OBSKIN files.

The BSZ Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our BSZ converter.
