About AZS files
The .AZS file is an encrypted document format generated by AirZip FileSECURE. It is used in corporate environments to enforce strict Digital Rights Management (DRM), control access, and track document usage.
To open or view these files, you need the official AirZip client software, which authenticates against a central secure server to grant or deny access based on your specific user permissions.
Users frequently need to convert this file because of its severe operational limitations. The .AZS format requires proprietary software installation, cannot be opened in standard web browsers or mobile devices, and severely restricts sharing with external partners. Furthermore, standard online converters fail to process it because the internal data is cryptographically locked.
If your security policy permissions allow it, the best conversion targets are standard, accessible formats like PDF or DOCX. Note that exporting to these formats will permanently remove the DRM protection and usage tracking features.
This file format is difficult to open or convert by design. Emphasize that often only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your AZS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert AZS file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use AirZip FileSECURE or similar software from the "Secure Document DRM Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to AZS, try AirZip FileSECURE or another comparable tool in the "Secure Document DRM Storage" category.
The AZS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our AZS converter.
