About ARY files

The .ARY file is primarily a DVR video recording file created by Fecor DVR systems and Arlo security cameras. In scientific environments, it is also used as a spectroscopy measurement data file containing laser ablation data generated by AvaSoft and SpectraSuite.

These proprietary files create immediate roadblocks for users. The DVR video variant relies on closed-source codecs and requires obscure software like Ary Viewer to play. You cannot open these files in standard web browsers, send them to mobile devices, or play them on universal media players like VLC. This makes sharing critical security footage with law enforcement or insurance companies extremely frustrating. Similarly, the spectroscopy data variant locks raw scientific measurements inside expensive desktop applications, hindering open data sharing and peer review.

To overcome these limitations, you should convert .ARY videos to standard MP4 or AVI formats. For scientific data, target universal formats like CSV or TXT to allow analysis in spreadsheet software.

Proprietary file structures make .ARY files difficult to open or convert with standard tools. Often, only the original DVR hardware or scientific software can properly read or export the data. However, standard online converters fail to process them. Just drag and drop your file into convert.guru to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible. Our advanced analysis detects supported underlying formats. For example, the spectroscopy .ARY file is structurally a ZIP archive. If our system detects this, viewing or converting the raw embedded data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ARY file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
