About ARH files

The .ARH file format is primarily used as an Electrical CAD project archive by IGE+XAO SEE Electrical. Under the hood, this specific version is a standard ZIP archive containing electrical design schematics, symbols, and project metadata. Another prominent use case is as a Well log data archive utilized by Emerson Paradigm Echos software for geophysical analysis. Less commonly, .ARH files function as Microsoft SQL Server database backups or Siemens ProTool compressed project files. The main disadvantage of the .ARH format is its highly proprietary nature. These files are tightly coupled with expensive, niche software. Standard web browsers and operating systems cannot read them natively. A standard online converter will almost always fail to process an .ARH file because it lacks the proprietary parsing logic required to assemble the CAD models or well log data structures. To access the data, users typically need the original software to export schematics to PDF or DXF. However, since the SEE Electrical variant is a ZIP container, you can often rename the extension to ZIP and extract the internal XML or binary assets.
