About ANT files
The .ant file extension primarily represents an Antenna Radiation Pattern Data File used by radio network planning tools. These files store critical spatial data - such as azimuth, elevation, and gain values - that describe how an antenna broadcasts and receives radio waves. Software from Ubiquiti, Radio Mobile, and MSI Planet relies on this data to simulate wireless coverage areas. Occasionally, .ant files are used as 2D CAD drawings in Mark Antenna CAD software or as secure signed documents for the Brazilian Navy.
The main disadvantage of the .ant format is its highly specialized nature. You cannot open these files natively in Windows or macOS, and visualizing the data requires proprietary, often expensive, radio network simulation software. This makes sharing technical antenna specifications with non-engineers or clients extremely difficult. Because many .ant pattern files are stored as plain text encoded in UTF-16 (Little Endian), they can be read manually but are difficult to parse without formatting.
To make this data accessible, convert .ant to CSV or TXT. This allows you to import the raw numerical values directly into spreadsheet software for analysis or graphing. If your file is a Mark Antenna CAD drawing, convert it to DXF or DWG for compatibility with modern drafting software.
Convert.Guru analyzes your ANT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert ANT file to GRADLE, you can use Ubiquiti UniFi or similar software from the "Antenna Radiation Pattern Storage" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert files to ANT, try Ubiquiti UniFi or another comparable tool in the "Antenna Radiation Pattern Storage" category.
The ANT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our ANT converter.
