About A10 files
An .A10 file is the tenth data segment of a split multi-volume compressed archive. Archiving utilities split massive files into smaller, sequentially numbered chunks (starting with A01, A02, etc.) to bypass strict storage capacity limits or email attachment restrictions. Programs like WinRAR, 7-Zip, and ALZip are typically used to create and decompress these split files. The underlying format usually belongs to the ARJ or ALZ compression standards.
The critical disadvantage of an .A10 file is its complete dependency on the entire archive sequence. You cannot open, view, or extract an .A10 file in isolation. If even one preceding part (such as the .A05 chunk) or the base file is missing or corrupted, the entire archive breaks, rendering your data completely inaccessible. Furthermore, native operating systems like Windows and macOS do not recognize the .A10 extension out of the box, requiring third-party tools just to read the basic metadata.
You cannot traditionally convert a single archive part. Instead, you must reassemble the sequence and extract the internal contents, or repackage the fully assembled archive into universally supported single-file formats like ZIP, 7Z, or TAR. Converting to ZIP ensures you can open the archive natively on modern devices without requiring specialized software.
Because this is a proprietary, sequential binary chunk, standard online converters fail when trying to process it alone. Usually, only the original software can properly stitch the pieces together. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your A10 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The A10 Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our A10 converter.
