About ZSPLIT files

The .zsplit file extension designates an Archiver Compressed Split File, engineered by Incredible Bee for their macOS application, Archiver. Its primary function is to divide a large compressed archive into multiple, smaller volumes. This is typically done to bypass file size limits on cloud storage or email attachments.

While splitting archives is a common practice, the .zsplit format poses significant disadvantages. It is a strictly proprietary format tied to a specific commercial Mac utility. Standard archive utilities like 7-Zip on Windows or the native macOS Archive Utility cannot read, extract, or combine these files. Furthermore, if a single file in the split sequence is missing or corrupted, the entire archive becomes completely unreadable, leading to severe data retrieval issues.

Users frequently need to convert .zsplit archives into widely supported formats like ZIP, 7Z, or TAR. Directly converting a single split volume is not technically possible without recombining the entire set first. You must extract the underlying files using the original Archiver software and then repackage them. Standard online converters fail to process these files because they lack the proprietary algorithms to merge the sequence and extract the payload.

Because this is a closed, proprietary format, extraction is difficult without the original app. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or extracting the contents may still be achievable without needing to buy a Mac-specific software license.

Convert.Guru analyzes your ZSPLIT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
