Extract text from Yabasic source code files (YAB)

The .yab file is a plain text source code script written in Yabasic (Yet Another BASIC), a traditional programming language used for creating simple command-line or graphical applications. These files contain the raw instructions that must be parsed by the runtime interpreter to function.
The primary software required to execute these scripts is the Yabasic Interpreter, available for Windows and Unix-based systems.
Because .yab is an obscure script format, sharing it often creates friction. Non-technical users cannot open it natively, modern code editors lack default syntax highlighting for it, and corporate email filters frequently flag unrecognized script files as security risks. You cannot run a .yab file natively on a standard Windows or macOS machine without first installing the dedicated runtime environment.
