To convert other file formats to the "Legacy Spreadsheet Macro" file type, you need software like SuperCalc or a similar tool.
About XQT files
The .xqt file extension is a proprietary macro format associated with SuperCalc, a pioneering spreadsheet program published by Sorcim in the early 1980s. These files store automated sequences of commands designed to execute repetitive calculations and data formatting tasks within the SuperCalc MS-DOS or CP/M environment.
Because SuperCalc is entirely obsolete, .xqt files are essentially useless on modern operating systems. The format is closed, undocumented, and relies on 40-year-old software architecture. You cannot open or run these macros in modern tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Attempting to use standard converters will fail because the syntax and spreadsheet engines do not map to modern Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) or Google Apps Script.
The most practical conversion target is TXT. By extracting the raw text from the macro file, you can read the legacy logic and manually rewrite it for modern software. The original automated functionality will, unfortunately, be lost.
This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert because standard online tools lack the parsing logic for legacy Sorcim products. Our system can inspect the binary or text contents and extract any readable internal strings. This allows you to view the historical code structure even without access to an MS-DOS emulator.
Convert.Guru analyzes your XQT file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The XQT Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XQT converter.
