About XG0 files

The .XG0 file extension is most commonly associated with Borland Paradox, a legacy relational database management system. Specifically, it functions as a secondary index file that accompanies a primary database table (usually a DB file). Alternatively, it is utilized as a data file by 1C:Enterprise, a popular business software and ERP suite.

Because an .XG0 file is merely a structural index, it contains search pointers rather than actual database records. This makes the format inherently disadvantaged: it is completely useless if separated from its parent database table. The file relies on a proprietary, closed structure that modern web browsers and generic office suites cannot natively open. Furthermore, maintaining legacy Paradox environments often requires outdated hardware or specialized emulators, making data extraction a severe operational bottleneck.

Standard online converters routinely fail with .XG0 files because raw index data lacks standalone meaning. To extract useful information, you should target the parent DB file and convert it into open formats like CSV, XLSX, or SQL. Converting the index alone will not yield usable spreadsheet data.

This file format is exceptionally difficult to open or convert because of its proprietary architecture. Often, only the original database engine or software like Corel WordPerfect Office can properly read or rebuild the index. Our platform will inspect the internal hex structure and extract readable text strings. If our analysis detects a supported underlying format or if you provide the accompanying database files, viewing or data extraction may still be achievable.

Convert.Guru analyzes your XG0 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted FI, UUU and WT files.

The XG0 Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our XG0 converter.
