About WVP files

The .WVP file format is a project file used exclusively by the MagicHTML Web Video Player software developed by Magic Hills. These files store the structural framework for a web-based video player, including configuration settings, skin layouts, playback controls, and direct file paths to the actual video media. They do not contain the raw video data itself.

The primary disadvantage of the .WVP format is that it is a heavily proprietary and closed project container. It is not a standard video file format. If you attempt to open a .WVP file without the original authoring software, the file will fail to execute. Because the file only references external media files, sharing a .WVP file with a client or colleague is completely ineffective unless you also bundle the original media files and they have the exact Magic Hills software installed.

To make your video accessible and playable on the web, you must convert or export the project to standard formats like MP4, WebM, or a complete HTML package. Standard online video converters will always fail to process .WVP files because they lack the proprietary rendering engine required to interpret the project data and compile the final player. Usually, you are forced to open the file in the original software and explicitly use the 'Export' or 'Publish' command.

This file format is difficult to open or convert precisely because it is deeply tied to a single software ecosystem. Often, only the original software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded text, XML, or JSON format within the file, viewing its structure or extracting the linked media paths may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WVP file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
