About WUL files

The .WUL file format is a language localization file used by WinUHA, an older graphical interface for the UHARC high-compression archiving tool. These files store localized text strings in a simple markup or key-value format, allowing the WinUHA software to display its interface in various languages. They are essentially structured plain text files. The primary problem with .WUL files is that they are tied to a completely obsolete archiving program that is rarely used on modern operating systems. Standard text editors do not automatically recognize the extension, meaning users often struggle to open them without manually assigning an application. The WinUHA software itself is unsupported and frequently throws compatibility errors on 64-bit systems. To read or edit the translation strings without installing the original software, you should convert or rename the .WUL file to TXT or INI. This makes the contents accessible and readable in standard editors like Notepad++. Standard online converters often fail to process this file because it uses a highly obscure, application-specific extension.
