Extract text from WireTap Studio packaged tracks (WTPT)

A .WTPT file is a WireTap Studio Packaged Track originally created by the WireTap Studio software for Mac OS X. It functions as a container to store audio recordings captured from the system or microphone, along with non-destructive editing history.
The primary disadvantage of this format is its severe obsolescence. The developer, Ambrosia Software, is permanently defunct, and WireTap Studio was a 32-bit application that cannot run on modern macOS versions (macOS Catalina and newer). Furthermore, it is a proprietary macOS bundle format. You cannot open it natively in modern digital audio workstations (DAWs), media players, or web browsers, and it traps your audio data in a dead software ecosystem.
To recover your recordings, you need to convert or extract the contents of the .WTPT file to standard, universally supported formats like MP3, WAV, or M4A. When you extract the audio, you will lose the proprietary, non-destructive editing history, but you will successfully recover the raw audio tracks.
Because .WTPT files are closed, proprietary macOS containers rather than standard media files, traditional online converters typically fail to process them. They lack standard audio headers.
