About WST files

The .WST extension is a classic example of a "filename collision," where a single file type is used by completely unrelated software for vastly different purposes. Before attempting a conversion, you must identify the source:

  1. Bitvise SSH Server Settings (20%): This is the most common use. It is a configuration file generated by Bitvise SSH Server. These files store server settings, user accounts, and host keys in a proprietary binary or XML format. Disadvantage: You cannot simply double-click to "open" this file in a text editor like Word. It is strictly designed to be imported back into the Bitvise Control Panel or managed via the BssCfg command-line utility.
  2. Wave Sample Table (8%): If you found this file alongside GSF or MINIGSF files, it is a raw audio container used for Game Boy Advance (GBA) music emulation. It contains the sound samples (instruments), while the .GSF file contains the note data. Friction Point: You cannot convert this file to MP3 directly because it has no sequence data. You must play the parent GSF file using a player like foobar2000 (with the Highly Advanced plugin) and then convert the output.
  3. Game & Industrial Scripts: Less frequently, it may be a localization text file for Rockstar Games (containing game dialogue) or a sequential program script for TRUMPF laser marking stations. These are typically plain text or proprietary scripts viewable in simple editors.

Convert.Guru analyzes your WST file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted LANG, BGI, SVB and NZ files.
