About WRM files
The .WRM file format is a proprietary Woorm code-behind report file. These files contain standard UTF-8 encoded source code that dictates how business data is queried, structured, and presented within Mago.net and Mago4 enterprise systems. Created by Italian software developer Microarea S.p.A., the Woorm reporting engine uses these files to generate invoices, financial summaries, and inventory reports. Users often encounter immense frustration when attempting to open .WRM files because they are rigidly locked into a specific legacy corporate environment. A major disadvantage of this format is that it does not contain the final readable business document. Instead, it contains the underlying raw script used to build that document. Standard office applications like Microsoft Word cannot process the file properly; trying to open it directly will simply display raw, scrambled code rather than a formatted table. This creates friction for external auditors, accountants, or managers who receive a .WRM file via email but do not have an active enterprise software license.
