A .WGZ file is an S60 Web Runtime Widget Package historically utilized by Nokia devices running the Symbian OS. It stores miniature web applications designed for mobile home screens, packaging standard web technologies into a single deployable file. Originally, these files were executed natively by the Nokia Web Runtime engine on legacy mobile phones.
The massive disadvantage of the .WGZ format is total obsolescence. The Symbian platform was discontinued, and modern smartphones (Android, iOS) or desktop operating systems cannot natively run or install these widgets.
