About UVX files

A .UVX file is primarily a Saved Game or User Profile generated by Unreal Tournament 2004. These files store your campaign progress, unlocked maps, and player statistics in a proprietary binary format.

The Problem: Locked Game Data

Because .UVX files are strictly formatted for the Unreal Engine, they are not human-readable and cannot be opened by standard text editors or media players. Users typically encounter these files when trying to backup old game saves or migrate progress to a new PC. A common frustration is the inability to view the data inside - opening a .UVX file in a program like Microsoft Word results in garbled text and symbols.

The Solution: Hex and Archival Conversion

While you cannot convert a game save directly into a playable video or image, you can make the data accessible or safe for storage:

Convert.Guru analyzes your UVX file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted UXX, UT2MOD and UASSET files.

The UVX Converter Story

The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our UVX converter.
