Convert UTD to another file type
To convert UTD Data files to another format, you need ArCon or other Game software.
Convert a file to UTD
To convert other file formats to the "Game Data Container" file type, you need software like ArCon or a similar tool.
About UTD files
The .utd extension represents two distinct, highly specialized file types that often confuse users due to their proprietary nature.
1. Game Data Table (Pentavision / Neowiz)
The most common use (approx. 40%) is a game data table found in titles developed by Pentavision and Neowiz, such as the popular rhythm game DJMAX. These files function as containers for game logic, statistics, or localized text.
The Problem: These are binary-encoded or encrypted datasets. Users trying to mod the game, translate text, or analyze stats cannot simply open them in a text editor like Notepad.
The Solution: To make this data usable, you typically need to convert it to structured formats like JSON, XML, or CSV.
2. ArCon Architectural Door Object
Less frequently, a .utd file is a 3D door object used by ArCon (Architecture Construction) software.
The Problem: This format is specific to ArCon's object libraries. If you are an architect receiving this file but working in AutoCAD or SketchUp, you cannot import the geometry directly.
The Solution: The goal is to convert these proprietary objects into standard interchange formats like DXF, DWG, or OBJ for use in broader CAD workflows.
Convert.Guru analyzes your UTD file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert UTD file to CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, YML, TOML, INI, CFG, CONF, DAT, DB or SQL, you can use ArCon or similar software from the "Game Data Table" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert DBF, XML, SQLITE, XLSX, SQL, TSV, ACCDB, YAML, MDB, CSV, ODS or JSON files to UTD, try ArCon or another comparable tool in the "Game Data Table" category.
The UTD Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our UTD converter.
