The .TYP file extension primarily belongs to Typst, a modern, markup-based typesetting system. These plain text files contain formatting commands, equations, and content used to compile mathematical or academic documents. A secondary use is for Garmin Map Style files, which customize the appearance of GPS maps in Garmin BaseCamp or MapSource.
A .TYP file from Typst is essentially raw code. It is useless to non-technical recipients because it cannot be viewed without the Typst compiler.
