About TTO files
The .tto file is an AS/400 data transfer request used by IBM i Access Client Solutions and older IBM Client Access/400 software. It stores the technical parameters required to execute a data query between an IBM i (AS/400) mainframe and a local PC. These files dictate the target system, the specific SQL query, and the output formatting rules.
The major disadvantage of the .tto format is that it does not actually contain the database records. It is solely an environment-specific configuration file. Because it requires an active network connection and authentication to an IBM server to fetch the data, standard online converters fail to process it. You cannot directly convert a .tto file into a CSV or XLSX data spreadsheet without executing it through the official IBM software first.
While direct data conversion is impossible online, the file itself is typically encoded in standard UTF-16 (LE) text. Just drag and drop your file to identify the format, view it, and convert it when possible on convert.guru. Our tools can parse the internal structure of the .tto file, allowing you to extract the raw SQL queries, server IP addresses, and transfer settings safely without needing IBM mainframe access.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TTO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

The TTO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TTO converter.
