About TT17 files
The .tt17 file is a proprietary data file generated by the 2017 Canadian edition of TurboTax. It stores an individual's or business's tax return information, including income, deductions, and personal details for the 2017 tax year in Canada.
Users primarily open and manage these files using the desktop version of TurboTax Canada 2017. The software requires a paid license and is installed locally on a computer to process the tax calculations.
The .tt17 format has strict limitations. It is closed, proprietary, and strictly version-locked. It cannot be opened by the US version of TurboTax, nor by older or newer Canadian versions (except for specific rollover functions in the 2018 edition). It requires a paid software license to access. Because it contains sensitive financial data, it is heavily structured and often encrypted, making it impossible to read with standard text editors.
Users typically want to convert .tt17 files to PDF for long-term document storage, or extract tabular data to CSV. However, standard online converters fail to process these files because the data is not stored as a visual document.
This file format is difficult to open or convert. Often only the original Intuit software can properly read or export the data. If our analysis detects a supported underlying or embedded format, viewing or conversion may still be possible.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TT17 file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
