About TO files
The .TO file extension is rarely a native file format. Most commonly, it is either an incomplete download generated by peer-to-peer clients like uTorrent, or a standard file (like a RAR archive or MKV video) that was accidentally renamed during a download from a .to domain (such as the former file-sharing site Uloz.to).
Because .TO is not a standardized format, operating systems like Windows and macOS do not know how to open it. Double-clicking will trigger a generic "Choose an application" error. If the file is a partial download, it is fundamentally broken and missing data chunks. You cannot open or convert a fragmented file until the download completes in the torrent client.
You do not "convert" a .TO file in the traditional sense. Instead, you must identify its true internal format. If it is a fully downloaded but misnamed RAR archive, you must extract it using WinRAR. If it is a misnamed MKV or MP4 video, you simply rename the extension back to the original or convert it to a universally supported format.
Standard online converters rely entirely on file extensions and will instantly reject a .TO file. Our analyzer ignores the meaningless .TO extension and scans the file's binary header to detect if it is secretly a RAR, MKV, PDF, or just incomplete file data.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TO file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TO file to JPG or PDF, you can use uTorrent or similar software from the "Partial Download or Renamed File" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert files to TO, try uTorrent or another comparable tool in the "Partial Download or Renamed File" category.
The TO Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TO converter.
