About TKS files
A .tks file is most commonly a firmware update package for Technosat satellite receivers or a legacy MIDI mapping file for Native Instruments Traktor.
For Technosat users, this file is a binary system update used to patch set-top boxes; it is not meant to be opened on a computer. Attempting to edit it will corrupt the firmware.
For DJs, the .tks extension represents keyboard or controller mappings for older versions of Traktor DJ software. While modern Traktor Pro versions use the TSI (XML) format, many legacy .tks files are still in circulation. According to technical data, some of these mapping files are structured as XML, meaning they can often be viewed by renaming the extension to XML or opening them in a text editor like Notepad++. However, the most reliable way to "convert" a .tks file for modern use is to import it directly into Traktor's preferences and then export it as a new TSI file.
Convert.Guru analyzes your TKS file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.
If you want to convert TKS file to PDF, EPUB, MOBI, AZW, AZW3, KFX, PRC, LIT, OPF, CBZ, CBR or CB7, you can use Traktor Pro or similar software from the "Satellite Firmware Update" category. In the File menu, look for Save As… or Export….
To convert FB2, MOBI, CBT, RTF, CB7, DOCX, DJVU, AZW, CBA, PDF, DOC or EPUB files to TKS, try Traktor Pro or another comparable tool in the "Satellite Firmware Update" category.
The TKS Converter Story
The history of Convert.Guru began over 25 years ago in California with Tom Simondi’s file-format database. A former contributor to Space Shuttle development and a software pioneer of the 1980s, Simondi established a trusted resource for file type analysis that was even referenced by Microsoft Windows XP. Today, we use modern technology to process and convert thousands of file formats while continually improving our TKS converter.
