About TI_ files

A .ti_ file is primarily a compressed or partial TIFF image file. It is commonly generated by legacy printer drivers like those from Brother, early imaging software by Wang Laboratories, or as a received fax message from an AVM FRITZ!Box router. It can also appear as a compressed installation file in older Microsoft Windows environments.

The .ti_ extension presents significant usability challenges. It is a non-standard file format. Most modern operating systems, mobile devices, image viewers, and web browsers do not know how to handle the trailing underscore in the extension. The compression method is often proprietary, or it relies on outdated MS-DOS makecab compression algorithms. This means users cannot simply double-click the file to view their faxes or scanned documents, and it often requires technical workarounds to access the data.

Users typically need to convert .ti_ files to standard formats like PDF, JPG, or TIF to ensure document accessibility, archiving, and cross-platform compatibility. Converting a multi-page fax to PDF is highly recommended to preserve the page structure and printability.

This file format is difficult to open or convert because the underscore implies either a proprietary compression layer or an incomplete network transfer. Standard online converters fail because they rely strictly on file extensions and do not recognize the .ti_ suffix. Our platform can inspect the file headers and identify the internal structure. If our analysis detects an embedded TIFF stream or standard compression, viewing or extracting the fax data may still be possible.

Convert.Guru analyzes your TI_ file, detects the exact format, and lets you read the text inside.

Users also converted JPG, PNG and SFC files.
